辗转大半年，英文和德文，总算是读完了。。。
见惯了从西欧角度来看待伊斯兰和中东，本书从伊斯兰教徒的视角来看待世界历史，读来很有启发。当然，自己写自己，总会有些传说不便细究，不过总体来说还是尽量做到了公正。3个枪炮帝国那一长段太有英雄传奇的史诗感了，很激动人心。
算是很坦率地梳理了伊斯兰思想和历史，如此而已。不太配得上副标题中的世界史。有些部分写得比较乱。最后要说伊斯兰世界还是中世最精彩。
比较完整的伊斯兰史，很不错的伊斯兰入门读物，虽然很多观点并不认同。
