卡尔·萨根（1934—1996），著名天文学家、科普作家。理性思维和浪漫幻想的捍卫者。普利策奖得主，《时代周刊》封面人物，外星智慧交流组织会长，NASA杰出公共服务奖章得主，获美国国家科学院公共福利奖章、美国物理教师协会奥斯特奖章，美国天文学会行星科学分会主席，第2709号小行星用“萨根”命名，设计并主导先驱者号“地球名片”和旅行者号“星际唱片”重大太空探索项目。

虞北冥，资深科幻、科普译者。毕业于北京师范大学语言文学专业、英国埃塞克斯大学英语文学专业。曾任《科幻世界》杂志译文版编辑，译著有《接触》《玩家1号》《信使》《暗影之年》《洄游》《光影游戏》等。
