1949年生于日本京都。凭处女作《且听风吟》获得群像新人文学奖，由此出道。后续著作不断，涵盖长篇小说、短篇小说、纪实文学、随笔等多个类型。其中有闻名世界的《挪威的森林》、深度纪实的《地下》、被誉为“新千年日本文学的里程碑”的《1Q84》、谈及战争反思的《刺杀骑士团长》《弃猫》等。

還是熟悉的村上春樹，字裡行間甚至感覺得出功力漸長，裡面有幾篇短篇挺有意思的。無論怎樣，已年過古稀，卻依然在堅持寫作就很了不起。感嘆時間飛逝，從十幾歲開始讀村上，如今我也開始變老。
