2005年，斯卡尔齐的处女作《垂暮之战》由美国著名科幻出版社Tor出版，随即获该年度雨果奖最佳长篇提名，斯卡尔齐本人也因此荣膺 2006年度约翰·W·坎贝尔奖最佳新人奖。
