《纽约客》杂志专职作家，有线电视新闻网（CNN）首席法律分析师。图宾曾任《哈佛法律评论》编辑，于1986年以最优成绩获哈佛大学法学院法律博士学位，先后担任独立检察官劳伦斯·沃尔什的助理顾问、纽约市布鲁克林区的联 邦助理检察官。1993年加入《纽约客》。

终于读完，比起在九人中的刻意中立（而不能得），似乎愈发有失淡定。即将到来的大选对自由派的分量太大了吗？……
我以前一直觉得和我生活息息相关的是政府的立法和行政部门，最高法院虽然神圣但却那么遥远，与我们普通人的日常生活的关系似乎不那么密切。昨晚掩卷以后才意识到之前的无知。作者对于美国三权分立的结构中司法部门对上至美国宪法下至普通美国人的日常生活所具有的深刻影响和所扮演的重要而常被忽视的关键角色作了精确且中立的叙述与刻画。这才是真正的记者。
